Mental Capacity Act Tri-Borough Event
The Mental Capacity Act continues to be a key theme for learning identified in children’s and adults safeguarding practice and statutory reviews both regionally and nationally.
Following the success of an event in 2024, guest speaker Neil Allen, Barrister and Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, is returning in November to discuss the complexities of the Mental Capacity Act experienced across agencies in the three boroughs as highlighted by HM Coroner. On the day, we will be exploring the interface between mental health and mental capacity; the assessment of executive capacity including impact of alcohol and drugs; the level of detail required in the mental capacity assessments as they become more complex; key mental capacity learning related to those age 16-25; and much more.
This event is for practitioners, managers and strategic leads from all agencies who may be required to consider the Mental Capacity Act in practice including practitioners working with children or adults in either the statutory or voluntary sectors.
Each borough has 60 places available, therefore early booking is recommended.
Please be advised if you work across the three boroughs you only need to sign up once.
The event will be at Earl Business Centre, Oldham.
