Loneliness Reduction training
Loneliness is a serious issue in the borough of Rochdale and is a root cause of many mental health issues, has intrinsic links with safeguarding and self-neglect, and erodes social cohesion in communities. Practitioners across organisations in the borough need to have the knowledge and skills to identify and support lonely people.
This 3 hour course aims to help tackle loneliness across the borough of Rochdale.
The course will cover the following:
1. An introduction to loneliness.
2. Understanding how loneliness is caused and experienced.
3. How to tackle loneliness, drawing on the Campaign to End Loneliness ‘Promising Approaches’ framework, which provides a structure to understand the various ‘cogs’ that need to come together in a ‘tackling loneliness machine’.
