Domestic Abuse - Engaging with those who harm - awareness training
Rochdale Community Safety and Resilience service are rolling out training that is aimed at frontline practitioners that support families affected by Domestic Abuse within the borough.
This training will provide an overview of engaging those that harm and give practitioners the tools to build confidence in having difficult conversations with people that are displaying both harmful/ abusive behaviour.
The topics that will be covered within the training are:-
- Typologies of domestic abuse through the lens of a person that is displaying harmful behaviour towards a partner, ex-partner or family member.
- Opening conversations with the person that harms while ensuring the safety of the victim.
- Exploring DHRs and examining behaviours of a person who displays harmful behaviour.
- Looking at resources available to engage those in specialist provision both locally and nationally.
