Cumulative Effects of Harm
This course will help practitioners:
- Be familiar with local procedures and national guidance
- Understand how effective partnership working can reduce harm
- Know how to keep focus on the needs of the child
- Understand and apply the cycle of change
- Have an opportunity to network and to reflect on your own practice
- To understand what works well in responding to the effects of cumulative harm
- Understand how the risk factors of parental mental illness, substance misuse and domestic abuse co-exist within families and the implications for safeguarding children
- Understand the impact on children and young people, in relation to immediate risk, their day to day lives and long term implications
- Describe the impact on parenting capacity
- Explore learning from Review findings
