Cultural humility and anti-racist practice
Workshop aims
In this interactive workshop we will consider what cultural humility and anti-racist practice means to you in the context of your professional identity. In our group, we will seek to encourage the process of individual, interpersonal and organisational reflection and explore concepts, strategies and tools to harness the power of diversity. Through the engagement of critical thinking and open dialogue, we will work towards being more attuned to addressing racism, marginalisation and exclusion on the personal, team and organisational levels. Importantly, we will aim to create a safe space where we can share with honesty and integrity about our journey of cultural humility.
Learning outcomes
- To share ideas, strategies and tools to support work across different cultures, so everyone we work with feels welcomed, respected and can thrive.
- To promote greater understanding of how to address racism, marginalisation and exclusion on a personal, team and organisational levels.
- To reflect on our individual journeys of cultural humility.
- To explore the critical nature of allyship.
